What's the Difference Between Spell Catcher X and Spell Catcher X Lite?
Spell Catcher X Lite is less expensive ($29.95 USD) than Spell Catcher X ($39.95 USD).
Spell Catcher X Lite excludes the following features :
- Complete via the Input Method: Completion features are not available as-you-type from Spell Catcher's input menu when using Spell Catcher X Lite. The Complete command, in those OS X applications that support it (most Cocoa applications do), is available.
- Ghostwriter: Spell Catcher X Lite does not include the Ghostwriter (keystroke saver) feature.
- Modify Selection: This feature lets you manipulate selected text in various ways, and calculate various statistics for the current selection. Spell Catcher X Lite does not include the Modify Selection and related Macro features.
Spell Catcher X Lite has limitations on the languages you can use :
- U.S. English and extra-cost languages only: Spell Catcher X Lite will only use the built-in U.S. English language references and any of the extra-cost language plug-ins. The eight other standard languages are not available with Spell Catcher X Lite - they will not be used even if they are installed.
To Sum it All Up
The software is the same - it's the license you buy that defines the available features.
A Spell Catcher X license costs $39.95 USD, and has no excluded features or language limitations.
A Spell Catcher X Lite license costs $29.95 USD, and excludes Interactive Completion, Ghostwriter, Modify Selection, and is limited to the use of U.S. English and extra-cost languages, as outlined in detail above.
If you purchase Spell Catcher X Lite, you can upgrade to a full Spell Catcher X license at a later date for $14.95 USD. If you decide to upgrade your Spell Catcher X Lite license, you need only refresh your license key to get the full Spell Catcher X functionality.
